From A Total Of 203,033, The Government Has Issued 109,838 Waqf Land Certificates

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Raja Juli Antoni revealed that the government has issued 109,838 waqf land certificates or 53 percent of the total 203,033 waqf land.

"The issuance of such a number of waqf land certificates was carried out during the eight years of President Joko Widodo's leadership," said Raja Juli accompanied by the Head of BPN Kudus Regency Bambang Gunawan who was met after handing over the waqf land certificate at the Office Complex of the Sunan Kudus Tower and Tomb Mosque Foundation, Friday, January 27, was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, currently there is extraordinary acceleration for waqf land certification in Indonesia.

"The issuance of waqf land certificates, of course, provides legal certainty to all parties, so that the intention of wakifs to commit syiar against Islam becomes a charity of radius. God willing, legal status is maintained and there is legal certainty," he said.

Since the issuance of Government Regulation Number 28/1977 concerning Waqf Land, a total of 203,033 waqf land status has been issued.

Thus, he said, for now there are still many waqf lands that have not been certified. Therefore, as Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN, he is serious about certifying waqf land for places of worship, houses of worship, Islamic boarding schools, and other waqf land.

He invites, community participation if there are mosques and prayer rooms near houses or places of worship and tombs that have not been certified to be informed to the local BPN by preparing supporting requirements, including the readiness of the stakes to be processed starting from measurements to issuance of certificates without any fees.

Even if there is a fee, he said, it is a cost of community participation for the provision of stakes. If there are other levies, the public is welcome to report it to him.

"Because it is part of the responsibility of the state. If the land is waqf as a manifestation of the spirit of 'Islamic philanthropy', generosity in Islam is well maintained as our responsibility in the ministry. God willing, the deeds of the wakifs will be maintained and beneficial for the people and the nation," he also said.

Raja Juli also had the opportunity to hand over 23 waqf land certificates for mosques, prayer rooms and educational institutions belonging to Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah.
