The Barelang Police Narcotics Unit arrested a member of the Batam City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) with the initials ADY for drug possession at a hotel in Batam, Wednesday, January 25 evening. ADY is a member of the Batam DPRD who comes from the Nasdem faction. ADY is also known to serve as secretary of Commission II of the Batam City DPRD. "Yes, that's right, we secured a man with the initials ADY on Wednesday," said Head of Drugs at the Barelang Police, Kompol Lulik Febyantara when contacted, Antara, Thursday, January 26. Lulik said that when ADY was secured, he was in the hotel room with a woman. The two men surrendered when they were arrested by the police, did not fight back. During the examination by investigating officers, they found out that ADY was a member of the Batam City DPRD. "When we first secured it, it was not known that it was a member of the Batam DPRD. After an examination at the office, we only found out that ADY was a member of the Batam City DPRD," he said. From the arrests of the two perpetrators, officers obtained evidence in the form of 0.68 grams of crystal methamphetamine. Currently, his party is developing and investigating the case. "We are still investigating where the methamphetamine was purchased, with whom and the roles of each of the two people we have secured are still being investigated, currently members are continuing to develop. Later, when we get complete information, we will convey it to our friends," he said. Secretary of the Regional Leadership Council of Nasdem Riau Islands, Kamaluddin, when confirmed, said that he had just received information about the arrest of the cadre.
