Researchers Of Dozens Of Cameras And Lens At The Tebet Kokas Sony Center Were Arrested, Shop Employees

JAKARTA The case of the Sony Center shop burglary in Kota Kasablanka (Kokas), Tebet, South Jakarta was revealed. The perpetrator with the initials PS (30), turned out to be an employee of the shop. PS was arrested in the Banten area.

Tebet Police Chief, Commissioner Chitya Intania said the case was revealed after his party checked CCTV at a number of points inside the mall.

"So we can uncover this case from CCTV at the kiosk and cooperate with securities malls. We will combine CCTV malls and CCTV kiosks (shops), then point to Pandeglang Banten," Chitya explained to reporters, Wednesday, January 25.

Based on the investigation, the perpetrator acted shortly after the shop closed. The perpetrator, continued Chitya, broke the store's trellis lock and then brought a number of camera equipment such as lenses, cameras and others with a nominal value of Rp675 million.

After unlocking the trellis from the shop, the suspect freely took Sony's camera brand. A total of 28 Sony products. 11 Sony cameras and 17 Sony lenses with a total loss of approximately Rp. 675 million, "explained Chitya.

The perpetrator took the stolen goods to the Pandeglang area by car.

"Then the perpetrator brought the stolen goods by car, taken to Pandeglang, Banten," he continued.

During the escape process, the perpetrators had sold the stolen goods through an online store. A total of 11 lens and camera units have been sold by the perpetrators, with details of a price of Rp. 400 million.

Chitya said the suspect committed the theft to get the money and then paid the debt.

"According to the suspect's statement, to pay off debts," he said.

It is known, PH once worked in a shop selling cellphones and electronics. The theft carried out by PH occurred on Sunday night, December 25, after the shop closed.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a minimum sentence of 5 years in prison
