An Earthquake With M 4.3 Cianjur Early This Morning Injured 7 People Who Were Injured By The Materials Of The House

WEST JAVA - A total of seven people were injured as a result of falling home material when an earthquake measuring 4.3 magnitude (M) rocked Cianjur, Tuesday, January 24 at 2.50 WIB.

Head of the Cianjur Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Fatah Rizal, said residents affected by the M 5.6 earthquake about two months ago who returned home panicked again because the tremors of the earthquake this morning were quite strong.

"We immediately collected data. The tremors were felt all the way to a number of nearby cities/districts, because it was feared that the earthquake would cause damage and casualties, because it felt very fast in a number of areas in Cianjur," he said in Cianjur, Tuesday, January 24, confiscated by Antara.

Seven residents in a number of sub-districts were injured, two of whom suffered serious injuries and were undergoing medical treatment at the Sayang Cianjur and Cimacan Hospitals. The victim was seriously injured on behalf of Ajid Sakib (7), a resident of Ciputri Village and Ujang (28), a resident of Sarampad Village.

Meanwhile, five victims who suffered minor injuries and were in the head due to being hit by the ceiling of a collapsed or critical house that fell, had time to undergo treatment at a number of health centers and by noon they had returned home.

"The damaged houses are still being collected, but the temporary report is that many damaged houses are being heavily damaged in the districts of Cugenang and Cianjur, precisely in Nagrak Village," he said.

Meanwhile, due to the 4.3 magnitude earthquake that again shook Cianjur in the early hours of Tuesday, it made residents who had just returned home for the last few days scatter out of their homes and returned to install emergency tents in anticipation of aftershocks that could damage houses.

"It's been almost two months after the 5.6 magnitude earthquake, we felt a very strong earthquake based on information from the BMKG with a magnitude of 4.3. We chose to set up an emergency tent in front of the house, for fear of aftershocks again occurring at night," said Nagrak Village resident

BMKG data shows that there have been around 482 aftershocks since November 21, 2022, with a magnitude of 1.0 to 4.3, but aftershocks that occurred on Tuesday morning with a magnitude of 4.3 have been the largest since the last two months.
