JAKARTA - PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol has built a central parking lot in the Ancol area. The reason is, Ancol's parking lot has been drastically reduced due to the use of the Formula E circuit.

President Director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Winarto admitted that the existence of the Formula E circuit in Ancol had a major impact on reducing parking capacity in the area. In fact, up to 4,000 cars.

"For now, the need for Ancol land is very urgent. It is too crowded. We have lost an area as wide as the circuit is very significant, car parking is reduced by 4,000 cars. So now, we will use the land near the fence, we take the southern part of the ecopark for parking centers," said Winarto, as reported by Antara, Friday, January 20.

The presence of a parking center, because the need for Ancol land is very urgent. Not infrequently there is a buildup of vehicles on the streets in the Ancol area.

PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol plans to limit access to cars into the Ancol area, which is expected to be realized after the parking center is completed, with the target of starting in 2024.

"Actually, we need the land (circuit), because (the effect now) the Ancol area is getting denser. However, because the circuit also has a contract, we (innovate) cars not to enter because the density in the area, especially on Saturday-Sunday to the East region, is difficult," said Winarto.

With restrictions on vehicles, especially cars entering the Ancol area, visitors do not need to pay for car entrance tickets. Management will prepare more buses between pick-up (shuttle) from the parking bag which will tour every point in the area.

"We encourage some vehicles not to enter the Ancol area. They only pay parking (in the parking center) at a fee according to the DKI Provincial Government tariff," said Winarto.

However, this idea is still being studied. There is also the possibility of setting a high tariff for vehicles that choose to enter the Ancol area.

"This is what is being prepared, so that most of the cars are no longer included in the area," he said.
