JAKARTA - The Immigration Office for Non Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) Class II Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency confirmed that seven foreign nationals (WNA) from Vietnam were arrested by the Aceh Police Ditreskrimsus Team and the West Aceh Police from a mine site in Sungai Mas District, West Aceh Regency. "It is true that there were arrests of seven foreigners from Vietnam, currently the seven foreigners are still at the West Aceh Police Headquarters for further questioning," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Class II Immigration Office Meulaboh, West Aceh, Iskandar, in Meulaboh, Antara, Thursday, January 19. The seven foreigners were previously arrested by police officers on Tuesday, January 17 at around 15.00 WIB in an illegal mining control operation in Sungai Mas District, West Aceh Regency and is still being handled by the police. There are also seven Vietnamese citizens who are currently being questioned at the West Aceh Police Headquarters including Pham Dhnh Bien (33) who serves as maintenance manager, Hoang Van Chinh (37) as the maintenance manager, Nguyen Cao Thang (36) with the position of Pyrometallurgy Consultant. Then Vu Ngoc Duc (32) with the position of Undergroud Mining Specialist, Vu Dinh Quang (34) with the positions of Undergroud Mining Specialist, Pham Dinh Tu (40) Technical Advisor, and Pham Dinh Tao (60) with the position of Technical Expert Development Consultant. Iskandar also said the seven Vietnamese citizens were holders of the Temporary Stay Permit Card (Kitas) as an expert at the company PT Indotama Minergi Solution (IMS). "For immigration documents, the seven Vietnamese citizens are valid Kitas holders, if this is a matter of manpower the domain of local governments and the police," said Iskandar. Iskandar also admitted that since he was in West Aceh Regency in 2022, the company that employed the seven Vietnamese nationals had never reported its activities periodically to the Non-TPI Meulaboh Immigration Office Class II. "In fact, according to the Law on Immigration, said Iskandar, every company that employs foreign nationals (WNA) is obliged to submit a report to Immigration regarding the activities carried out," said Iskandar.
