The power of the red rooster who burned down the official residence (rumdin) of the Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri reached 60 percent.

"The damage caused by the fire to the main building of the residence is about 60 percent of the entire residence building complex," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 17.

The official residence is about an hour's journey from the Papua Police Headquarters which was just inaugurated by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono on January 8.

The location of the official residence is in the middle of the city, precisely the North Jayapura District, while the Papua Police Headquarters is only in the Koya Koso 1 area.

According to him, the official residence is occupied by the Papua Police Chief. Luckily when the fire occurred, Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri was not at his official residence.

"The police chief occupied the family, but after the work from Nabire the day before he went straight to a private house in Jayapura," said Ignatius.

So, when the fire broke out, there were no casualties, including members guarding the residence of the Regional Police Chief.

Ignatius also said that there were no securities belonging to the Regional Police Chief or valuable objects burned down in the incident. Losses are estimated to temporarily reach hundreds of millions for burning buildings.

"Losses due to burning buildings are estimated at hundreds of millions," said Ignatius.

Previously, Ignatius emphasized that there was no element of negligence or sabotage from outside the incident. The fire is thought to have been caused by a short circuit after an earthquake of 3.6 magnitudes occurred in the area.
