JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is auctioning off houses and apartments belonging to the convicts, Melia Boentaran and Handoko Setiono. The assets are located in Surabaya, East Java and Pekanbaru, Riau. "The KPK together and through the Surabaya State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) and the Pekanbaru State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) will conduct an auction of looted goods in public," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Monday, January 16. Ali said this auction was held behind closed doors without the presence of participants or closed bidding. The activity was held on Thursday, January 26 at 10.30 server time. "This auction is based on the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia which has permanent legal force," he said. Each winner is obliged to pay 2 percent of the auction price. The goods being auctioned are the Graha Golf Apartment which is located on the 108th floor of Alexa Tower, Pakis Hamlet, Surabaya. The assets were auctioned at a limit price of IDR 5,919,724,000 and a security deposit of IDR 1,000,000,000. The other three items are a 150/182 house in Labuh Baru Barat Village, Payung Sekaki District, Pekanbaru Riau. This asset is accompanied by a certificate of ownership in the name of Jhon Mart Purba. "It is auctioned at a limit price of IDR 931,526,000 and a security deposit of IDR 200,000,000," said Ali. Other items sold are 90/168 houses located in Labuh Baru Barat, Payung Sekaki District, Pekanbaru Riau. The assets were auctioned at a limit price of IDR 658,906,000 and a security deposit of IDR 150,000,000. The last assets are land and buildings that are used as a package containing houses of type 70/177. The location is in Labuh Baru Barat, Payung Sekaki District, Pekanbaru Riau. "It is auctioned at a limit price of Rp. 400,924,000 and a security deposit of Rp. 100,000,000," said Ali. Auctions can be done by accessing the website www.lelang.go.id. Winners can pay off payments within five working days.
