Ganjar Brings Change At The Central Java Weigh Bridge, Based Online Without Extortion

SEMARANG - The community has an important role in the free practice of illegal levies in Central Java. The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, said that people who are orderly in the rules, make bureaucratic reform easier to implement.

Ganjar said that the weight bridge, which is now free from extortion, was not solely due to its inspection at the Timbang Subah Bridge, Batang in 2014. People also have a share by obeying the rules.

"On the one hand, the government is improving so that there is no extortion on the weight bridge (or) on the road, but on the other hand, if the public is also orderly, we are comfortable, there is no violation of each other," said Ganjar, Saturday, January 14.

Ganjar expressed his appreciation to the entrepreneurs and truck drivers who are in an orderly manner. One of them is guarding the cargo of trucks not Over Load and Over Dimension (ODOL).

"The community supports that order, for example not ODOL, not over-dimensional overload, it will actually be fine," he continued.

Ganjar emphasized that since his 2014 findings, the government has continued to make improvements. Ganjar admitted that many truck drivers dared to profit their names if they found extortionists.

"But the point is that it is community satisfaction with the presence of the government and reform in the transportation system and we continue to improvise for improvement," he said.

Ganjar said that currently the authority of the bridge is directly addressed by the central government. However, his party will continue to actively assist and keep the weight bridge free from extortion.

"We encourage continuous improvement and I don't hesitate to do that, for example, I immediately send WA to the Dirlantas and immediately follow up. We ourselves improve, but yes, the public must be educated, everything must be proportional and regulatory," he said.

Previously, it was reported that truck drivers passing through Central Java now felt comfortable. They are no longer wary and have to prepare for an "envelope" to be able to escape the weight bridge.

"Since Mr. Ganjar said he was safe. In the past, he had to prepare money. If not now, just prepare the papers," explained Ade Hermanto, an expedition truck driver at Ajibarang Bridge, Banyumas, Friday (13/1/2023) yesterday.

Currently, the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) for the X Central Java region - Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) has also been formed. Consisting of 10 weight bridges, including Tanjung (Brebes), Subah (Batang), Sarang (Rembang), Banyudono (Boyolali), Klepu (Semarang Regency), Ajibarang (Banyumas), Wanareja (Cilacap), Kulwaru (Kulonprogo), Kalitirto and Tamanmartani (Sleman).

Not only that, Ganjar's firmness in 2014 also brought many changes to the weight bridge service system.

"Since Mr. Ganjar's incident, there have been many changes. Among other things, it is very open and transparent. The operational system uses JTO (Online Weigh Bridge), direct data is in contact with the center," said UPPKB Service Unit Coordinator Ajibarang, Alkori.

It said the system change was also able to reduce the number of violations.

Every day there are about 150 vehicles checked. There is a decrease in the number of violations, which were originally around 30 vehicles, now a maximum of 10 vehicles per day. That's because we already know that the rules for entering Central Java. In addition, we also socialize through social media. And we are committed to no extortion," he said.
