Nganjuk Police, East Java, arrested two of the three perpetrators of destroying the Asmaul Husna Monument ornament at the T-junction of Tanjunganom District. The motive was that the perpetrator was annoyed by his wife because she often quarreled, so she vented her emotions by destroying the ornament. "There are two of the three perpetrators who have been arrested, one more person is still at large," said Nganjuk Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP I Gusti AG Ananta, confirmed on Friday, January 13. Gusti said the two perpetrators, each with the initials FM, 21, and DA, were known after the police checked CCTV footage at the scene. As a result, it was discovered that there were three people riding a Honda Beat motorcycle. Arriving at the location, the round ornaments that read Asmaul Husna, was hit by one of the perpetrators with his bare hands, until the ornaments were scattered like they were hit by a bomb. According to Gusti, FM, one of the suspects, admitted that he did this due to being drunk due to the influence of wine-type alcoholic beverages. FM admitted to drinking wine, because he was annoyed that he often had fights with his wife. "Actually, he was annoyed with his wife, and wanted to vent it to the people he met on the road. But because the road was quiet, the perpetrator finally vented his frustration on the monument ornament," he said. Gusti emphasized that his party will not tolerate and will take firm action against anyone who disturbs public peace. "We do not tolerate the actions of these suspects, they have made the residents of Nganjuk Regency restless. We will resolve this case until the perpetrators receive punishment commensurate with their actions," he said. As a result of their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 406 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 56 of the 2nd e of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of two years and eight months.
