Bareskrim Investigators Become Witnesses In The Red Notice Case, Denied Brigadier General Prasetijo Was Examined While Sick

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri investigator Kombes Totok Suharyanto said Brig. Gen. Prasetijo Utomo had complained of illness during the investigation process for the alleged bribery for the removal of red notice for Joko Tjandra.

Brigadier General Prasetijo's complaint was revealed when the panel of judges questioned Kombes Totok regarding the situation and conditions during the examination.

"Was he (Prasetijo) sick at that time ?," Chief judge Muhammad Damis asked during a trial at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta, Monday, December 28.

Kombes Totok Suharyanto was presented by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) as a witness in the trial of the alleged removal of red notice bribery for the accused Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte.

Totok answered that during the examination, Brigadier General Prasetijo had complained that his condition had deteriorated. At that time, Brigadier General Prasetijo complained that his head was getting dizzy.

"There is indeed a noble complaint of illness," said Totok.

Previously, Brigadier General Prasetijo gave his statement that he was examined while undergoing medical treatment. Brigadier General Prasetio once included several photos showing the examination process when he was sick.

"Because we in the trial concerned showed the photos (checked while being treated). That is the real point so you were presented here," said Damis.

Totok rejected Brigadier General Prasetijo's statement. Because, when Brigadier General Prasetijo complained of illness he immediately stopped the examination temporarily. In fact, investigators decided to present a doctor.

Subsequently Brigadier General Prasetijo was examined for his health. After the doctor stated that his condition was healthy, the examination related to the case was continued.

"At that time we summoned the doctor for examination and at that time he was given the opportunity for the person concerned to continue (willing) to continue the examination," he said.

Joko Tjandra was charged with paying SGD200 thousand and USD270 thousand to Inspector General Napoleon and USD 150 thousand to Brigadier General Prasetijo.
