Commission II of the DPR reminded the government to be careful in appointing the acting (Plt) governor of Papua, after the arrest of Lukas Enembe by the Corruption Eradication Commission. Lukas is a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification related to infrastructure projects sourced from the Papua Regional Budget. Member of Commission II of the DPR, Mardani AliSera, assessed that the government needs to be careful before appointing the Acting Governor of Papua. Because, according to him, the situation in the easternmost province of Indonesia is an area with special handling. Moreover, said Mardani, the legal status that ensnared the Democrat politician was not yet permanent. "Because Pak Lukas Enembe's legal decision has not been finalized, the procedure (the appointment of the Acting) requires caution," said Mardani, Thursday, January 12. Meanwhile, the position of deputy governor of Papua Province is still not filled after being left by Klemen Tinal, who died on May 21, 2021 due to a heart attack. Therefore, the PKS legislator emphasized that the appointment of Plt or Pjs must follow the applicable rules. "The appointment of Plt or Pjs must of course follow the applicable rules," said Mardani. It is known that the Regional Secretary of Papua Province Muhammad Ridwan Ruikutun was appointed as the Daily Executive (Plh) of the Governor of Papua following the arrest of Lukas Enembe by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Ridwan's appointment as the Acting Governor of Papua was based on the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Number 100/326/184/SJ dated January 11, 2023 regarding the Assignment of the Papua Regional Secretary as the Daily Task Force (Plh) of the Governor of Papua. "I have been conveyed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, through the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy, online or via WhatsApp. However, for (SK) the new physical field will be taken by the Assistant for General Affairs of the Regional Secretariat of Papua, Derek Hegamur," said Ridwan Ruikutun in Jayapura, Papua, quoted from Antara, Thursday, January 12. According to Ridwan, the service of the Papua Province government has been running normally without any problems. Development also continues as usual after the arrest of Lukas Enembe in Papua last Tuesday. "There is no specific instruction from the Ministry of Home Affairs. As Acting Governor of Papua, Ridwan admitted that he would coordinate with the Papua Regional Leader Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), related agencies, as well as the TNI and Polri.
