JAKARTA - Two specialist thieves from the Bank Mandiri automated teller machine (ATM) with the initials AS (49) and AB (54) were arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tamansari Police, West Jakarta.

In his crime, the perpetrator pryed the rearview mirror using a modified wire and screwdriver. The perpetrators are already in action in the Jakarta area and its surroundings.

"They are specialist actors who have repeatedly carried out actions in Jakarta," said Tamansari Metro Police Chief AKBP Rohman Yongky when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, January 11.

When examined by investigators, the two perpetrators had the mode of pretending to make transactions at ATM machines. Perpetrators have different roles in action. Start diverting attention and transacting in an ATM machine.

"The executor acts to pry the machine with a screwdriver and insert the wire," he said.

The arrests of the two perpetrators began with a security report that was suspicious of the perpetrators' movements. The two of them came using a Honda Brio car and entered the Bank Mandiri automated teller machine (ATM) room in the Kota Tua area, Tamansari.

"The perpetrator came using a Honda Brio car which was deliberately rented by the perpetrators," he said.

Even though they used a car when they were in action, local security officers who were on guard finally suspected the perpetrator's actions. The officer then checked and saw that the perpetrator was dredging the ATM machine using a wire.

The security team then reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tamansari Metro Police. The two perpetrators were finally arrested.

"We managed to secure the two perpetrators along with evidence of 1 ATM card, 1 screwdriver and 1 long stainless wire measuring 35 cm. The perpetrators have acted several times, about 7 times in action. As a result of their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 Jo 53 of the Criminal Code," he said.
