The First Day Of Christmas Holiday Backflow, 125,217 Vehicles Entering Jakarta

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 125,217 vehicles heading to Jakarta on the first day of the return flow of the Christmas holidays or Saturday, December 26.

"This figure is the cumulative traffic flow (traffic) from several Barrier / Main Toll Gates (GT), namely Cikampek Utama GT and Kalihurip Utama GT (east direction), Cikupa GT (west direction) and Ciawi GT (south direction)," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru, quoted by Antara, Sunday, December 27.

According to Heru, the total volume of vehicles bound for Jakarta fell by 2.2 percent when compared to normal conditions.

"For the distribution of traffic to Jakarta from the three directions, the majority are 48.96 percent from the east, 29.84 percent from the west and 21.19 percent from the south," he said.

The number of vehicles heading to Jakarta via GT Cikampek Utama 1 was 33,936 vehicles from the east, an increase of 10.0 percent from normal traffic.

Vehicle traffic from the east to Jakarta via GT Kalihurip Utama 1 was recorded at 27,373 vehicles, a decrease of 13.2 percent from normal traffic.

"The total number of vehicles heading to Jakarta from the East is 61,309 vehicles, a decrease of 1.7 percent from normal traffic," Heru said.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles from the West heading to Jakarta via the GT Cikupa Merak-Tangerang Toll Road was 37,370 vehicles, a decrease of 7.6 percent from normal traffic.

The number of vehicles from the south or locally via the Ciawi GT heading to Jakarta via the Jagorawi Toll Road is 26,538 vehicles, an increase of 5.5 percent from normal traffic.

Jasa Marga urges toll road users to anticipate trips before entering toll roads. Ensure that vehicles and drivers are in prime condition, adhere to health protocols (use a mask, wash hands and keep your distance) while in the Rest Area, fill up sufficient fuel and electronic money, and comply with signs and directions from officers and rest if you are tired of driving.
