Update On COVID-19 As Of December 27: New 6,528 Cases, Healing, Increasing 6,923

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 41,963 specimens were examined with the result that there were 6,528 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 713,365 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, December 27.

Cases recovered today increased by 6,983, so that a total of 583,676 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 243 people and a total of 21,237 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 1,997 new cases and a total of 175,926 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java, which has 892 new cases with a total of 79,590 cases. Central Java has 785 new cases and a total of 77,793 cases. Then, East Java has 738 new cases and a total of 80,748 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,832 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,172 recovered cases, South Sulawesi with an increase of 942 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 601 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 7,124,513. In detail, a total of 7,002,459 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 122,054 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 69,325 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
