Allegedly An Electrical Short, Hyundai's Car Caught Fire In Front Of The BPKP Building

The black Hyundai car experienced an electrical short in the engine and caught fire in front of the BPKP building, Jalan Pramuka, RT 10/08, Utan Kayu Utara Village, Matraman District, Tuesday, January 10.

The Hyundai car engine with police number B 1846 TJC belonging to Puspa (43) was found charred by fire.

Luckily there were no casualties in this fire incident. However, the loss is estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"The fire was successfully extinguished by firefighters who came to the location. The fire extinguishing process lasted for 19 minutes," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, Tuesday, January 10.

As many as 10 personnel with 2 fire engines were deployed to the location of the car fire. Thanks to the alertness of the officers, the fire was successfully tamed. However, after the fire was extinguished, the condition of the victim's car engine was burned.

"The cause was an electrical short in the car engine. At first, the driver saw the dashboard indicator light turned off. Then smoke came out of the engine hood," he said.

Currently, the process of extinguishing the fire has been successfully carried out. Meanwhile, the victim's car was withdrawn.

"Losses are estimated at Rp 150 million," he said.
