Denying Deadlock With PKB Regarding The Determination Of The 2024 Presidential Candidate, Gerindra: Still See Political Development

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party has denied the deadlock or deadlock of the agreement point with PKB regarding the presidential and vice presidential candidates that the two parties will carry in the 2024 presidential election.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, reasoned that for now his party and PKB are still looking at the dynamics of the presidential candidate.

"It's not a deadlock, it's called politics, it's dynamic, we also see political developments. Election registration is also still long, it's better for each of us to divide tasks, consolidate and also win tasks," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 10.

"Actually, these two parties have enough coalitions to advance. So actually there is nothing to focus on," continued Dasco.

Until now, the Gerindra Party and PKB still want their respective general chairmen as presidential candidates in 2024. Gerindra nominated Prabowo Subianto, while PKB proposed Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.

However, communication between Gerindra and PKB who are members of the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR) is still intensive. As with the cooperation agreement signed last August, said Dasco, the matter of presidential and vice presidential candidates will be decided together. "Yes, if we communicate with PKB, it is always good. In a written agreement, it is clear that the candidate for vice presidential candidate will be decided together by Gerindra and PKB. So everything is possible," he said.

In fact, added the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Gerindra and PKB will soon inaugurate the joint secretariat (sekber) to win the election next week. "Earlier we spoke with Mr. Muhaimin, we have been matching the time, and earlier the time was right, God willing, we will inaugurate it next week," said Dasco.
