Student Victims Of Toxic Food 'Chiki Ngebul' In Tasikmalaya Healthy

TASIKMALAYA - Tasikmalaya District Health Office, West Java said, the child who was reported to have been poisoned by Chiki Ngebul snacks at school in November 2022, is currently in good health. Head of Health and Business Places Service Supervision at the Tasikmalaya Reti Zia Dewi District Health Office said there were no symptoms or received surgery. The victim had already returned from the hospital at that time. "Seeing his condition, thank God, there are no symptoms, and he is healthy again," said Reti Zia Dewi to reporters in Tasikmalaya, quoted from Antara, Monday, January 9. He said that the alleged incident of seven children experiencing food poisoning at a school in the form of Chiki Ngebul or containing nitrogen material occurred in Ciawang Village, Leuwisari District, Tasikmalaya Regency on November 15, 2022. The Tasikmalaya Health Office, he said, when receiving reports of suspected food poisoning, immediately acted together with health workers from the local health center to deal with victims. "At that time there were symptoms, one of which was nausea, officers from the puskesmas went straight to the crime scene, and coordinated with the Health Office," he said. He conveyed that at the scene of the incident there were seven people with symptoms of food poisoning such as nausea, and one person was taken to the Tasikmalaya SMC Hospital for a medical examination. The victim who was taken to the hospital immediately received medical treatment for approximately three hours, after that he was allowed to return home while still receiving supervision from the medical team in the field. "We have sent home only observations at the SMC Hospital. For the victims, we always monitor with the nearest health center, we also make a team to see the condition," he said. Regarding the food consumption, Chiki Ngebul is dangerous, he said, his party has not been able to convey it, because further research is needed regarding the elements in the food content. However, he said, every food that contains overpreservatives or preservatives has a bad or dangerous impact on human health. "Basically, if the food is excessive, it will be dangerous, but related to nitrogen, the BPOM itself has not issued a guide, there are no provisions from the research," he said. He conveyed that the Tasikmalaya Health Office had been trying to educate the public and traders to always choose or sell healthy and safe foods for consumption. In addition, he continued, his staff together with other relevant agencies carried out socialization activities to the food sector household industry about making healthy and healthy foods. "Socialization to the household industry is how to make good and healthy food," he said. Separately, the victim's mother, Wiwin (30) said that her child's condition is still healthy even though she was taken to the hospital, but it didn't last long. "Alhamdulillah, since that incident until now my child has been healthy and has no symptoms," he said.
