Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono had previously given the green light to PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) to carry out Formula E according to the contract until 2024. "I fully support the holding of Formula E again in Jakarta. I will encourage the Governor's PJ and also PT Jakpro for that," Taufik said in a short message, Monday, January 9. Taufik said Formula E could not just be stopped. This is because Jakpro as the BUMD organizer of Formula E was assigned by Anies, when he was still the Governor of DKI, to sign a three-year contract, with 2023 and 2024 using a business to business (B2B) scheme. "It's not very good for Jakpro if he cancels the contract," he said. At the end of 2022, Jakpro has presented a financial report on the implementation of Formula E with a profit of IDR 6 billion. However, the report does not include a commitment fee expenditure of IDR 560 billion. At least, with the continuation of Formula E in the next two years, Taufik believes this international racing event can gain more revenue. "By organizing Formula E 3 times until 2024, we will get financial benefits. In addition to the advantages of the macro economic turnover that has been calculated by INDEF and the increasing image of our city and our nation as a city of countries that are able to organize world events well," explained Taufik. For information, Formula E Operation (FEO) as the license holder of Formula E has included the implementation schedule in Jakarta on June 3 and 4, 2023 in its race calendar. "2023 is included in the FEO race calendar which was officially announced through its web. The event will be held for 2 days, tentatively, June 3 and 4," said VP Corporate Secretary of PT Jakarta Propertindo Syachrial Syarif in a short message, Friday, January 6. Syachrial said, Jakpro as the BUMD organizer of Formula E will still coordinate intensively with FEO as the license holder of Formula E regarding the preparation of the team that will be assigned to this electric car racing event. In addition, the format of the Jakarta E-Prix racing event and concept is still in the brewing stage. Likewise with sponsorship candidates who will participate in this year's race.
