JAKARTA - Director General (Dirjen) of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Silmy Karim asked his staff to make instructions for making Visa visits upon electronic arrival (e-VoA) which is more user-friendly and makes it easier for foreign citizens (WNA).

"I ask that a more user-friendly clue be made, so that foreigners with e-VoA subjects can be informed properly," said Silmy in a written statement, Friday, January 6.

Since e-VoA was launched, he continued, quite a number of foreigners who are e-VoA subjects are still queuing up to make payments at the bank counter.

Silmy also continues to urge immigration officers to continue to strengthen services. Not only when traffic flow is heavy, such as the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays, he said, immigration services must also be ensured to be maximized.

"Auto gates should not get into trouble, even when there are no passengers," he added, quoted by Antara.

In line with the mandate conveyed by President Joko Widodo, the Directorate General of Immigration seeks to develop services at airports by direct international flights. Therefore, Immigration continues to provide the best service to Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreigners.

"One thing that must be pursued is the transformation of the capabilities of the Directorate General of Immigration through increasing organizational effectiveness and efficiency," he said.

The former president director of PT Krakatau Steel Tbk added that currently the development of service flow systems and immigration supervision supported by data integration and a qualified technology architecture is crucial.

If it is implemented properly, according to him, Immigration can facilitate national economic growth through investment and attracting global talents to Indonesia. This is one of the immigration functions that is a special concern of the Directorate General of Immigration.

Regarding the aspects of supervision, prevention, and deterrence, Silmy said Immigration is committed to increasing vigilance and optimizing communication, both internally and between institutions.

Currently, foreigners from 86 countries can enter through the Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) of Soekarno-Hatta Airport faster using e-VoA. E-VoA users simply show the QR code on e-VOA at the immigration counter. The visa payment was made before foreigners entered Indonesian territory.
