Bulunimung TPA In North Penajam Paser Is Prepared To Be The Location For The IKN Nusantara Waste Disposal

The North Penajam Paser Regency Environmental Service (DLH) has prepared land to serve waste from the capital city of the archipelago or IKN Nusantara in East Kalimantan (Kaltim).

The head of the North Penajam Paser Regency DLH, Tita Deritayati, said that the waste disposal would be placed in the Bulunimung landfill (TPA), Penajam District. "The land for waste disposal at the Buluminung TPA has an area of 18.5 hectares," said Tita in Penajam, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, Thursday, January 5, was confiscated by Antara. The Buluminung TPA serves household and industrial waste disposal throughout the North Penajam Paser Regency.

Currently, Tita said the Buluminung TPA was prepared to absorb trash from IKN Nusantara after the capital officially moved from Jakarta.

To support it, the North Penajam Paser Regency Government in 2023 has also provided a budget for the procurement of one heavy equipment unit for the Buluminung TPA. "Heavy equipment will be used for hoarding and compacting waste at the Buluminung landfill," he said.

Tita appealed to reduce waste from households and industries, the community and companies to sort waste first before being disposed of to temporary disposal sites (TPS).

Tita said household and industrial waste that still has economic value will be managed by the Waste Bank.
