Next Wednesday, Prosecutors Will Read Bharada E's Demands In Brigadier J's Case

JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) will read out the charges against the defendant Richard totaling alias Bharada E on Wednesday, January 11 next week.

This was decided by the panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel) who tried the alleged murder case of Brigadier J because the series of trials had passed the examination stage of Bharada E as a defendant.

"Both the next agenda is the reading of the demands or the re-ciliator from the public prosecutor, when will you be the public prosecutor?" asked Chief Judge Wahyu Iman Santoso during the trial, Thursday, January 5.

However, the prosecutor had asked the judge to postpone the trial for reading the charges. The reason is, it took two weeks to prepare the lawsuit file.

"The permission of the panel is related to the recitation which will be read out by the public prosecutor considering that this incident the defendant is a principal actor and who is together, so we ask for two weeks. Because we will prioritize the principal first of the assembly," said the prosecutor.

However, the panel of judges remains in its decision to continue to open the trial of the charges next week or Wednesday, January 11. However, if it is deemed insufficient, then the judge will postpone the trial to be continued the following week.

"Look, we will postpone it on Wednesday, if we still need more time then we will postpone it for another week," said Wahyu.

"Ready assembly," replied the prosecutor.

"So for the time being, we will postpone it for the next Wednesday, one week," said Judge Wahyu.

Bharada E is one of five defendants in the murder case of Brigadier J. He was charged with participating in the murder.

Based on the indictment file, Bharada E shot Brigadier J using a Clock-17 firearm. The action was called on Ferdy Sambo's orders.

The shooting was carried out in the living room of the Police Complex, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, on July 8, 2022.

Thus, in this case Bharada E was charged with violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary to Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code and threatened with a maximum sentence of death, life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years.
