JAKARTA - Tourists from outside the Central Java region visiting Borobudur Temple in Magelang Regency must show negative antigen rapid test results.

Based on monitoring in Magelang, Thursday, December 24, the inspection of visitors to Borobudur Temple was carried out at post 1. For visitors who could not show the results of the antigen rapid test, officers were asked to turn back.

Before visitors buy tickets, officials inform them that during the COVID-19 pandemic visitors enjoy Borobudur Temple from the courtyard only and must apply strict health protocols.

General Manager of Borobudur Temple Tourism Park, I Gusti Putu Ngurah Sedana, said that usually the years before the pandemic have prepared facilities and infrastructure for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

However, he said during this pandemic the main focus was on health protocols.

"We focus on the priority of health protocols. The addition of officers to regulate, provide directions or remind visitors to keep their distance and keep wearing masks," he said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 24.

Putu conveyed that the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park followed policies from both the provincial and district governments regarding all destinations designated for visitors showing negative antigen rapid test results.

The enactment of the rapid antigen test results, he said, took effect today. This is in accordance with a letter from the Office of Tourism, Youth and Sports of Magelang Regency and the Office of Youth, Sports and Tourism of Central Java Province.
