82 Traffic Accidents Occurred In Rejang Lebong Bengkulu Throughout 2022, Losses Were Estimated At IDR 1.2 M

BENGKULU - Rejang Lebong Police, Bengkulu, during 2022 handled 82 traffic accidents or traffic accidents that occurred in the area.

"The number of traffic accident cases has increased from 2021 to 74 cases. Of the 82 traffic accident cases, 28 people died, 27 people were seriously injured and 72 people were lightly injured with material losses of Rp1.2 billion," said Rejang Lebong Police Chief AKBP Tonny Kurniawan in Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu, Sunday, January 1, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the number of traffic accident cases that occurred in Rejang Lebong Regency involved two-wheeled vehicles, four and others involving other vehicles or single accidents.

"Of the total 82 traffic accidents that occurred throughout 2022, we have resolved 75 cases or with a percentage of 91.4 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, there were 74 cases of traffic accident that occurred in Rejang Lebong Regency during 2021, with 22 deaths, 29 serious injuries and 65 minor injuries, with a material loss value of IDR 484.3 million.

In order to suppress the traffic accident case in Rejang Lebong Regency in 2023, his party, through the Traffic Unit of the Rejang Lebong Police, will increase socialization about the importance of traffic safety by targeting schools and community groups spread across 15 sub-districts.

"One of the targets of this socialization activity is schools in Rejang Lebong Regency. Because most of the traffic accident cases that occurred in Rejang Lebong Regency involved minors or students," he concluded.
