A total of 742 traffic accidents occurred in North Jakarta throughout 2022 to Saturday which resulted in 135 deaths.

North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Wibowo revealed that 81.8 percent of the number of traffic accidents that occurred in North Jakarta throughout 2022 had been completed.

The accident involved two-wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles, four-wheeled vehicles such as private cars to many wheels such as trailer trucks and the like.

"For this traffic accident, we also say that in 2022 there will be 742 cases with a settlement of 602 cases or 81.8 percent," said Wibowo at Ancol Dreamland, Pademangan, North Jakarta, Saturday, December 31.

The total death toll from traffic accidents in North Jakarta during 2022 reached 135 people.

"There are 135 people who died," said Wibowo.

In addition, there were 28,999 motorcyclists and 563 car drivers who received sanctions with evidence of traffic violations (tickets) during 2022.

The North Jakarta Metro Police have completed 1,437 of the 1,819 total cases of disturbances in security and public order (kamtibmas) that occurred in 2022.

"This means that of the total cases that occurred, both reported at the Polres level and at the Polsek level, we managed to resolve as much as 79 percent," said Wibowo.

On the other hand, 21 percent of the total 1,819 cases have not been resolved due to problems with a number of things. Among them are related to the proof of ownership documents along with the validity of documents involving other policy makers (stakeholders).

For example, because the whereabouts of vehicles are not yet known at this time and are still in the process of being worked on. Although the perpetrators are known based on the available evidence, it still requires a process.

Wibowo emphasized that of the thousands of cases resolved, not many incidents had an impact on large kamtibmas disturbances.

Large kamtibmas disturbances such as mass riots, social conflicts, and life-threatening crimes did not occur much this year.

"So it tends to cases that lead to material losses such as fraud and embezzlement," said Wibowo.

"Hopefully in 2023, we can solve up to 100 percent of the cases that are arrears in 2022," said Wibowo.
