JAKARTA - About 120 innovative military projects have been completed and successfully used during Russia's special military operations, said Deputy Defense Minister of Russia General Pavel Popov.

"In accordance with the Commission's (Russian Ministry of Defense) decision [for innovative projects and technologies], about 330 initiatives are currently being worked on. This means that only since early 2022, a total of 96 innovative projects have been reviewed, with 54 of which have been approved for use," he told the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper in an interview, citing TASS December 30.

"A total of 120 innovative projects have been completed and practiced, and some have been successfully used, including during special military operations," the official continued.

"Of the 120 projects completed, seven have found practical use for the benefit of the Air Force's High Command, 14 for the Navy's High Command, 14 for the Command of the Air Force and 94 for other military command structures," added General Popov.

In 2022, the Main Directorate of Innovative Development of the Russian Ministry of Defense conducted 10 military technical experiments, 14 field tests and two series of state trials.

"Overall, they use more than 100 prototype weapons, military and special equipment served by more than 60 domestic organizations and companies, which work in the defense sector. This includes seven sea and 30 land-based robotic systems, 54 unmanned aerial vehicles, eight types of firearms, three sets of communications equipment, one medical device and one fire extinguisher," concluded the Russian general.
