Canceled At GBK, PDIP Holds 50th Anniversary At JIExpo On January 10, 2023

JAKARTA - PDI-P (PDIP) Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party would hold a 50th anniversary of the party at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) on January 10, 2023. This was determined after the cancellation of the location of the event which was previously planned at Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan. "On January 10, 2023, the PDI-P will hold its 50th anniversary at JIEXPO Kemayoran," said Hasto in a virtual press conference, Friday, December 30. Hasto said the 50th Anniversary of the PDIP was canceled at GBK because the stadium would be prepared for the U20 World Cup football event. So finally the activity was diverted to JIexpo Kemayoran. "Initially, the activity will be carried out at Gelora Bung Karno which has a very strong history with the Party. However, due to the provisions of the Menpora, the Bung Karno Main Stadium will be prepared for FIFA," said Hasto. Hasto explained that the theme of the 50th Anniversary of the Party was "The Handband of Unity with the Mutual Cooperation and the Spirit of the Fire of Struggle Nan Tak Kunjung Padam", with the Sub-Theme "Indonesia's Unity to Indonesia Raya". The celebration of the party's anniversary bearing the bull symbol next year will be held when the 2024 General Election stage is already underway. Therefore, the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the PDIP will be part of the Party's consolidation in the context of winning the 2024 General Election. Thus, it is more internal in order to strengthen the identity of the PDI-P as a Pancasila ideological party with the characteristics of people, nationality, and social justice. "Hopefully with this theme, 2023 as a political year will really encourage the spirit of mutual cooperation that elections are the momentum for the birth of new national leaders, as an effort to improve the quality of our democracy by placing people's sovereignty as the highest law," he added.
