JAKARTA - The Christmas and New Year holidays will soon arrive. Major national banks such as PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk have announced operating hours and availability of cash during the holiday period to meet customer needs.

President Director of BCA, Jahja Setiaatmadja, said that during the Christmas and New Year holidays, BCA will suspend branch office operations from 24-25 December 2020 and 31 December to 1 January 2021.

"The weekend banking will be eliminated on December 26-27, 2020 and January 2-3, 2021," said Jahja in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, December 22.

However, he continued, customers can still make #BankingFromHome transactions through BCA digital services, such as BCA mobile or KlikBCA. For customers who want to make cash deposit transactions, you can use a BCA Deposit-Withdrawal ATM which is ready 24 hours.

"To anticipate the need for customer withdrawals at ATM machines ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays, BCA provides cash of Rp 30.5 trillion," said Jahja.

Jahja added, if during the year-end holidays it is necessary to open a new account or block accounts, this can already be done via BCA mobile so that it will minimize activities at BCA branch offices. Bill payments that generally arrive at the end of the month can also be done in one hand on BCA mobile.

Meanwhile, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk claims to have prepared IDR 15.1 trillion in cash to meet the needs of the community during December 2020. The allocation fell 8.2 percent from the previous year period.

Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary Rudi As Setridha explained that the cash allocation was mostly used to meet the cash withdrawal needs of the public at Mandiri ATM machines.

Rudi said that his party has anticipated the peak increase in customer transactions, which is estimated to be on December 16-31, so that the ATM filling limit is optimized for that period. The plan is for the preventive maintenance process to be carried out at 955 ATM machines in major locations.

The total number of Bank Mandiri ATMs is currently recorded at 13,176 Mandiri ATM machines connected to the ATM Link network, ATM Bersama, ATM Prima and Visa / Plus throughout Indonesia to serve customers' cash needs.

Especially during the Christmas holiday period of 24-27 December 2020, Bank Mandiri will also operate as many as 160 branches throughout Indonesia in turn to provide limited banking services, including payment of delivery orders by Pertamina gas stations and weekend banking services.

"Meanwhile, during the New Year holiday period December 31, 2020 - January 3, 2021, as many as 214 branches will be operated alternately to provide limited banking services, including payment of delivery orders by Pertamina gas stations and weekend banking services," said Rudi.
