The Story Of Yuli, A Women With Disabilities Whose Businesses Were Crowded After Being Visited By Sandi Uno

JAKARTA - Present at the special 7th Series' Economic Study on Mother's Day, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno spoke with several inspirational women, one of which was the Founder of the KCB Orchid Disability Community, Yuli.

Menparektaf Sandiaga Uno recalled that in 2018 he and his wife, Nur Asia Uno, and the Setara Indonesian Foundation first met Yuli. At that time, Sandiaga and his wife inaugurated Yuli's business.

"2018 I and my friends from the Setara Indonesia Foundation had time to go to Mother and the production of this garment provides many opportunities for friends with disabilities to work, contribute and so on," said Sandiaga Uno, quoted on Sunday, December 25.

Sandiaga also asked about the current condition of Yuli's business. Then, Yuli also told about the progress of his efforts after being visited by Sandiaga and Nur Asia.

"Alhamdulillah, you used to be a father, if you remember changing t-shirts, you don't have a bathroom, now the engine has 75 industrial-scale sewing machines with complete cutting space and layout equipment," said Yuli.

Yuli said, for the past four years he continued to work hard. Yuli said that there are people with visual impairments, deaf people, visually impaired, and homeless people who work in his place.

"I'm very grateful, now it's actually developing again. Our pandemic exploded. So the mask order in one year is 500 thousand masks and we empower women around the neighborhood and their salaries every Saturday are at least IDR 2 million during the pandemic. This is very extraordinary," said Yuli.

Nur Asia, the wife of Sandiaga Uno, also admitted that she was touched by Yuli's rapid business progress. He didn't even think he could meet again.

"I'm moved, Mrs. Yuli, I can't cry anymore. But I'm grateful, ma'am. This is all because of Allah," said Nur.

Furthermore, Yuli admitted that he was grateful to Sandiaga and Nur Asia, who did not know him but were pleased to inaugurate his business. He also hopes that Menparekraf Sandiaga can return to his business.

"So thank you very much, the blessings you and you open, because Allah can all of you. I myself am also confused about why it is now big, Mr. Alhamdulillah," explained Mrs. Yuli.
