FPI Laskar Family Challenges Metro Police Chief Mubahalah, What Does It Mean?

JAKARTA - One of the families of a special laskar member of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) named Faiz Ahmad Syukur, Suhada challenged the Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Fadil Imran to make an oath of mubahalah over the laskar's death.

"Because my religion is Islam, I invited the Kapolda Metro Jaya to change. This means that please bring your wife and children to me, I will bring my wife and children, then we change, determine who is right," Suhada said at Komas HAM office, Monday, December 21.

The mubahalah oath was carried out by two parties who had conflicting attitudes in one case. This prayer in mubahalah refers to one of the verses in the Qur'an, namely Surat Ali Imran verse 61.

Each party must include his immediate family in the oath. This oath carries a huge risk of death. This means that everyone who takes this oath must not speak carelessly.

"Later, let Allah determine. If my child is wrong, then our family will be cursed by Allah. If they are wrongdoers, they will be cursed by Allah and all his descendants," said Suhada.

Currently, the family of six special laskar who guard Rizieq Shihab who was shot by the police during the clash at the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road submitted the case investigation to Komnas HAM. Because, they do not believe the investigation from the police.

"We did not receive information directly from the police after our child was killed. What hit us was after being killed, then it was slandered that our child was carrying a firearm, carrying a sharp weapon, our child was considered to have attacked the police. This is illogical," said Suhada.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the PKS DPP Mardani Ali Sera said the family allowed Komnas HAM to re-autopsy the bodies of six FPI soldiers who were victims of the shooting on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

This was conveyed by Mardani after accompanying the family of six FPI laskar in a joint meeting with the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM).

"Lawyers and families have prepared a statement that it is permissible if Komnas HAM wants a repeat autopsy," said Mardani.

The DPR member said that Komnas HAM opened the plan to re-autopsy the six FPI soldiers who died. However, Komnas HAM first asked for approval from the family.

This agreement, continued Mardani, was given because the families of the six FPI laskar who were victims of the shooting doubted the results of the autopsy conducted by the police. This doubt arose after the police, without their consent, carried out an autopsy.

"What I caught earlier was that his body was already autopsied, even though none of the family had given consent to carry out an autopsy step," he said.

"Earlier there was a family document agreeing that Komnas HAM requires further examination by conducting a re-autopsy. Earlier the family's approval was conveyed by a lawyer," added Mardani.
