PALANGKA RAYA - A total of 48 residents from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) were abandoned in Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan, for being deceived by a company located in Sampit City, East Kotawaringin Regency. "The NTT resident, who was promised to work at a company located in East Kotawaringin, was directed to Palangka Raya City to go to a branch office in the local city," said Bukit Tunggal Subhanoor village head in Palangka Raya, Antara, Tuesday, December 20. According to him, when he arrived at the directed branch office, it turned out that no one had promised the job even when contacted the number in question was no longer active. Initially, the kelurahan received a report related to a group of people who gathered on the side of Rajawali Street, which was eventually brought by the kelurahan to the hall to be evacuated from the side of the road. "We found them lying on the side of the road, until finally we took them to Bukit Tunggal Village to rest in the Basararang Hall that we had for them to rest," he said. Subhan revealed that they initially accepted the job offer via social media and only communicated by telephone, until finally they were all deceived when they arrived in Palangka Raya. "They were promised a job in Sampit City, but after arriving they were all directed to Palangka Raya using the travel that Bambang ordered, which promised them work," he said. Currently, all the residents of NTT are still in Bukit Tunggal Village waiting for their confirmation where they will be taken, because they are currently looking for a solution. Of the 48 NTT residents, there are 31 adults, 17 children. Even in the village, there were also people from the Flobamora family association who helped find solutions for them. "Until now, they are still staying in Bukit Tunggal Village. Their food and drink is currently borne by residents of Bukit Tunggal Village, RT, RW and donors while finding their solution to return to their hometowns," he said. The chairman of the Flobamora Association, a resident of NTT, Gregorius, said that his party is currently looking for a solution for those who have been deceived and promised to get the job. "Currently there is one company that will accommodate all of them, it's just a matter of waiting for the company to come to coordinate with all of them," said Gregorius.
