Stabilizing Basic Food Prices, Ganjar Ranks Market Operations Ahead Of Christmas 2022

Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo ordered his teachings to hold market operations ahead of Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023. This activity is to ensure the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) and other necessities remain under control.

"Market operations are important to ensure price stability of basic necessities during Christmas and New Year," said Ganjar when delivering directions online at the Central Java Forkopimda Coordination Meeting at the Gradhika Bhakti Praja Building, Semarang, Central Java, Tuesday, December 20.

Ganjar said food supply must also be monitored because some inflation has occurred. "We ask for economic clumps both in the provincial and city district governments to check for us to go down and check," he said.

Based on the experience of the Regional Inflation Control Team, Ganjar continued, this method is very helpful for the community as well as showing public attention regarding the prices of basic necessities.

"This must be maintained, so if we all go down together, it will be very helpful," he said, quoted by Antara.

Ganjar also asked for sufficient stock and availability of basic commodities to be ensured to be safe so that in addition to market operations, it is also necessary to oversee the smooth distribution of foodstuffs.

"And, ensuring that the highest retail price policy can really be implemented. Then the cheap food movement involving related parties, this is for religious activities, maybe with CSR or friends from the state civil apparatus," he said.

Based on data from Perum Bulog Divre Central Java, rice stocks as of December 19, 2022 were recorded at 35,606 tons consisting of government rice reserves (CBP) 8,211 tons and commercial rice 27,395 tons.

Then, other commodity stocks such as cooking oil, Central Java Divre Bulog have a stock of 71,838 liters, while the stock of flour is 1.76 tons and sugar stocks are 625.25 tons.
