Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto paid his respects to the house of the victim who died as a result of falling during a mine tug-of-war to break the record for the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) with a total of 5,000 participants. The victim named Masita B is a resident on Kelapa Tiga Street, Ballaparang Village, Rappocini District, Makassar, South Sulawesi (Sulsel). The victim participated in a tug-of-war competition on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Makassar, Sunday, December 18. "I express my deep sorrow both personally and as mayor and Chair of IKA Unhas Sulsel," said the man who is familiarly called Danny Pomanto as quoted by Antara. The MURI Record Breaking Mining Pull Competition was held by the Alumni Family Association (IKA) of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) South Sulawesi. Masita's victim, who is also the head of RT 001 RW 007, Ballaparang Village, was one of 5,000 participants in the record-breaking activity. Moh Ramdhan Pomanto who is also the Chairman of IKA Unhas South Sulawesi admitted that the victim was a hard worker figure. The victim is also known as the head of the RT who has high dedication to the Makassar City Government. "No one suspected that there was an incident like this, I would like to express my deep condolences. Moreover, he is a dedicated PKK cadre and RT head, so I feel very lost," he said. He also did not expect an incident like this. Even though before the event started he had been around monitoring one by one participants at the location. "We never wanted an incident like this, so we tried as safely as possible from the start. I even went to one by one. But the name of the incident was never suspected," he said. According to him, the committee has taken various anticipatory steps to minimize all kinds of unwanted incidents. Therefore, the committee already has supervisors for each distance in each region. "The anticipation is complete, we have supervisors of each distance. The coordination of each distance has been closed and everyone sees that I say avoid getting into the rope, enter the right," he said. "I ask that everything be taken care of, including the BPJS. Friends must take care of it properly," he said. In the incident, apart from causing one person to die from bleeding in his head, three people were also injured.
