53 Ludes Burns Buildings, Refugee Tents Built At Cibono RPTRA For 230 Manggarai Fire Survivors

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has set up a refugee camp for fire victims in the Manggarai area, South Jakarta. Tents stood near the Cibono Child Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA).

BPBD also provided logistical assistance to a set of prayer tools for victims affected by the fire incident.

BPBD DKI Jakarta distributes logistics and basic life assistance to survivors with details: Air Mineral (15 boxes),elapan (70 sheets), Family Kits (25 packages), Matras (60 sheets), Kidsware (25 packages), Terpal (25 sheets), Mukena (60 sheets), Basin (60 sheets)," he said.

As is known, a fire broke out in the Manggarai area, South Jakarta on Saturday, December 17, at 15.05 WIB.

A total of 28 firefighters and 140 personnel were deployed to tame the red rooster which was finally extinguished at 17.55 WIB.

Isnawa said 53 buildings consisting of rented houses and houses were burned down due to the incident. "13 houses live and 40 doors are rented. 53 family cards or 230 people (affected-ed)," Isnawa said.

South Jakarta firefighters, Sutaka, suspected that the fire came from lightning that struck a television antenna from a resident's house.

"When it rained heavily with strong winds, Lightning grabbed the TV antenna, one of the residents' houses in the name of Hajjah Nafisah," he said.

Sutaka confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. However, the loss is estimated at billions of rupiah. "The loss dose is IDR 1.5 billion," he concluded.
