Al Haris-Abdullah Sani Won In The Jambi Gubernatorial Election, But The Number Of Golput Was Higher

Jambi, 19/12 (ANTARA) - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Jambi Province in the Provincial Plenary Meeting of Vote Count Recapitulation at the Provincial Level Election of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jambi 2020 determined the pair Al Haris-Abdullah Sani as the winner of the most votes.

"Candidate pair number 03 Al Haris-Abdullah Sani received 596,621 votes," said Jambi Provincial KPU Chairman M. Subhan in an open plenary meeting of vote count recapitulation at the Abadi Convention Center Jambi Hotel, quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 19.

Furthermore, candidate pair number 1 Cek Endra-Ratu Munawaroh received 585,203 votes and candidate pair number 2 Fachrori Umar and Syafril Nursal received 385,388 votes.

M Subhan said that the valid ballots from the 2020 Jambi Governor / Deputy Governor Election were 1,567,212 votes, while invalid ballots were 89,153 votes. The total valid ballots and invalid ballots were 1,656,365 votes.

Meanwhile, the number of voters was recorded at 2,442,330 people, both voters who entered the DPT and voters who used electronic ID cards when voting. Total voters who exercised their voting rights were 1,656,364 people.

Subhan explained, after the plenary meeting was open to the recapitulation of vote counting, a plenary meeting to determine the elected candidate pair would be held.

However, before the plenary meeting is held, the KPU will provide an opportunity for pairs of candidates who are not satisfied with the vote acquisition to file a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court for 3 days.

If during the given time there is no lawsuit, he continued, the local KPU will hold a plenary meeting to determine the elected candidate pair.

"If there are pairs of candidates who file a lawsuit, the plenary meeting to determine the elected gubernatorial candidate pair will be postponed until the lawsuit is legally binding," said Subhan.
