JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Review (IPR) Ujang Komarudin said the intention of the United Development Party (PPP) to propose Acting Chairman Mardiono as vice presidential candidate from the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) would not receive support from political parties members of the coalition itself. The reason is, there are several factors that Mardiono finds it difficult to carry out as a vice presidential candidate, let alone a presidential candidate. First, the level of electability or electability that has never been included in the survey. "So, Mr. Mardiono does not have (electability), it is also difficult to become a presidential candidate. But once again it is PPP's right to be able to propose the chairman to become a presidential or vice presidential candidate," said Ujang in Jakarta, Friday, December 16. Second, by construction of the political map in parliament, PPP also has the smallest votes compared to Golkar and PAN. PPP, only has 19 seats. Third, no one wants to support it because it will definitely lose. “Bargaining's politics is also low. That's the logic of the fight in the presidential election like that. In addition, Mardiono's bargaining power is also the lowest compared to Zulkifli Hasan and Airlangga Hartarto. "Looking for bargaining to lift Mardiono is a positive thing that can be done, but because the bargaining power is low it will be difficult, heavy. The strong party that is in the upper middle class has a high bargaining rate," said Ujang. Previously, the Chairman of the PPP DPP, Achmad Baidowi or Awiek, said that his party still wanted to nominate Plt Ketum PPP Mardiono as the vice presidential candidate for KIB. According to him, it is also hoped that other KIB members, namely PAN and Golkar. "If it's like PPP, we hope that Mr. Mardiono can enter the vice presidential contestation. Of course PAN hopes for the same thing, Golkar also hopes for the same thing.
