JAKARTA - Minister of Villages for Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT) Abdul Halim Iskandar said that in 2022 the majority of villages in Indonesia are trying to achieve the first destination village SDGs, namely a poverty-free village.

"In the implementation of the Village SDGs in 2022, if we look at the village's top priority, referring to the Village SDGs for the first destination, almost all villages are trying to bring their villages to povertyless villages," he said at the Kaleidoscope Desa, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration 2022 in Jakarta, Thursday 15 December.

He said efforts to achieve a village without poverty were the priority goals for the majority of villages based on the results of the deliberation of each village in the implementation of the Village SDGs achievements.

He added that the second priority of villages that villages in Indonesia want to achieve is the second destination village SDGs, namely villages without hunger.

"The second destination village SDGs are related to stunting," said Gus Halim, as he is usually called.

Then, he continued, the priority of the three villages in Indonesia that want to be achieved is the third goal, namely a healthy and prosperous village.

The fourth priority that the village wants to achieve is SDGs Desa's ninth destination, namely infrastructure and village innovation according to needs.

"So the diction that we use really brings to a problem-based concept and understanding. Village infrastructure and innovation are as needed, not just building infrastructure, but indeed based on the needs of the villagers," he said as quoted by Antara.

Mendes PDTT Gus Halim hopes that the Village SDGs can fulfill an idiom Think Globally Act Locally. "So think globally of local activities. So the way he thinks is macro, but the handling is micro-scale, meaning at the village level," he said.

He assessed that the efforts that the village wanted to achieve in implementing the Village SDGs were in accordance with the direction of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), namely focus and detail.

According to him, doing something will be successful if done with focus and detail. On the other hand, if you don't focus and the details will not meet the expected results.

"So some of our findings, the focus carried out by the village on these goals, which I call focus and detail. And thank God, today the micro data in the village is getting more complete. It is even at the reading level through the dashboard," said Abdul Halim Iskandar.
