Pro And Kontra Of The New Criminal Code, Yasonna Laoly Sorry

TANGERANG - Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham), Yasonna H Laoly, apologized to the entire community regarding the Draft Criminal Code (RKUHP) which has now become the New Criminal Code. He realized that the law was not 100 percent approved by the public.

It is known that the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia approved the Draft Criminal Code (RKUHP) as a law in level II decision making conducted by the DPR at the 11th Plenary Meeting of the Second Session Period of the 2022-2023 Session Year, Tuesday, December 6.

"For that, with all the shortcomings that exist, I am the Minister of Law and Human Rights (HAM), the designer team, the RKUHP plan team together with DPR friends, if there is something imperfect, on this occasion of course I apologize," said Yasonna at the Poltekip-Poltekim Village, Tangerang, December 15.

This PDIP politician is aware of the pros and cons related to the New Criminal Code. However, he said, all parties may file a lawsuit at the Constitutional Court (MK).

"If we may or are said to lack socialization, even though we have tried a lot on the orders of the president directly. For that, we sincerely apologize," he said.

"However, this is a state legal product, there is a constitutional mechanism from parties who feel the need to test this Criminal Code Law. Please do it through a continuous mechanism," he concluded.
