JAKARTA - Spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination Siti Nadia Tarmizi confirmed that the COVID-19 vaccination is free. He also emphasized that people who do not have an active membership in BPJS Health can also get vaccinations. This means that BPJS membership is not a mandatory requirement.

"Following up on the free COVID-19 vaccine policy announced by the president on December 16, we can emphasize that the COVID-19 vaccine is free for the public without any conditions, also without membership requirements and activeness at BPJS Kesehatan," he said in a virtual press conference, Friday. , December 18th.

Currently, said Nadia, the Ministry of Health and various ministries / agencies are conducting deepening and adjustments, as well as mechanisms for vaccinating the entire community.

Furthermore, he hopes that this vaccination can be socialized as soon as possible to the local government (Pemda) and the community.

"After completing it, we will immediately socialize it to local governments and communities," he said.

Not only that, Nadia also ensured that the COVID-19 vaccine that has been circulating in the community will be safe and halal-certified because it has received permission from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

"The Ministry of Health will ensure the readiness of all health service facilities, health workers and distribution systems for vaccination," he said.

Nadia also reminded that the risk of COVID-19 is real. Therefore, vaccination aims to accelerate efforts to reduce transmission rates, morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19.
