Thanks To The Citizens' Complaints, The East Kalimantan Police Removed Illegal Mining And Determined The Suspect's Capital Owner

BALIKPAPAN - The Directorate of Special Crimes (Ditreskrimsus) of the East Kalimantan Police has named two people as suspects in the illegal mining case that occurred in the local area. "From residents' complaints through the East Kalimantan Police hotline regarding illegal mining activities, our officers managed to secure 14 people and two of them have been named suspects," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the East Kalimantan Police, Kombes Indra Lutrianto Amstono in Balikpapan, Antara, Wednesday, December 14. He said the two people who were applied as suspects were YP as supervisor and DA as the owner of the capital. The two suspects, who are residents of Samarinda, were immediately detained at the East Kalimantan Police Detention Center for legal proceedings. "They are suspected of mining a five-hectare land and do not have a permit," said Dirkrimsus Polda Kaltim. The officers also confiscated evidence of the crimes of the two suspects, including three excavators, three dozers, six dump trucks, 5,000 metric tons of coal piles, 1,000 metric tons of coal piles elsewhere, and 1,000 metric tons of coal already loaded on barges. Kombes Indra added that the evidence from this illegal mining case would later be auctioned off to help with state financial income. In the last three months, the East Kalimantan Police have carried out law enforcement against illegal mining activities in the IKN (North Penajam Paser), Jonggon (Kutai Kartanegara), and in Berau Regency.
