Police Explain Reasons For Forced Pick-Up Of Nikita Mirzani

JAKARTA - Artist Nikita Mirzani was forcibly picked up by a member of the police because she was not present on two summons to investigate cases of persecution. The case file for this case has been declared complete since November 26, 2019.

Nikita was supposed to be questioned by the police on January 2 and 7. At the first summons, Nikita was not present because she was preparing for Umrah. Meanwhile, on January 7, he was performing Umrah.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said, a few days after the second summons, Nikita had written to investigators explaining that she was sick and had to rest for some time.

"On January 23rd, NM sent a sickness statement via courier. The letter was issued by Brawijaya Hospital. On the same day, the courier from NM again sent a letter containing the question that the hospital gave a 7-day break," said Yusri when confirmed, Friday, January 31st.

Because she was absent twice, investigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police forcibly picked up Nikita at a television station in the South Jakarta area, Thursday, January 30. Nikita's information is needed to extract information related to the torture against her ex-husband, Dipo Latief.

The persecution incident occurred about a year ago, to be precise, Thursday, July 5 2018. At that time, Nikita was following her ex-husband from her home until she was in the Pasar Minggu area, South Jakarta.

Then, at Pasar Minggu, Dipo sent two of his colleagues. At that moment, Nikita got out of her vehicle and approached her ex-husband's car. He threw an ashtray on Dipo's forehead while venting his anger.

"NM threw an ashtray in the car which resulted in bruises and abrasions on the victim's forehead or forehead," said Yusri.

Dipo reported this case to the South Jakarta Metro Police. The report is registered under the number LP / 1189 / VII / 2018 / PMJ / RJS, 5 July 2018. Thus, Nikita was charged with Article 351 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 335 of the Criminal Code regarding persecution.
