JAKARTA - TNI Headquarters dispatched 1,090 soldiers to carry out UN peacekeeping missions in Lebanon.

The departure of TNI soldiers who are members of the Garuda Contingent (Konga) UNIFIL TA Task Force (Satgas). 2020 was released by the TNI Chief of General Staff (Kasum) Lt. Gen. Muhammad Herindra, at the TNI Headquarters Plaza, Cilangkap, DKI Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, December 17.

TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto in his remarks read by the Head of the TNI, Lieutenant General TNI Muhammad Herindra, said that the UN assignment to be carried out by TNI soldiers is a special task, because as soldiers also become national ambassadors, TNI ambassadors, and become the face of the TNI in international forums. .

The Garuda UNIFIL TA Contingent TNI Task Force. 2020 consists of the TNI Konga XXIII-O / United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Mechanical Yon Task Force, TNI Konga XXV-M / UNIFIL Task Force, Konga XXV-M / UNIFIL Konga Force Headquarters Support Unit (FHQSU) Task Force M1 UNIFIL, Task Force Force Protection Company (FPC) TNI Konga XXVI-M2 / UNIFIL, Task Force Level II Hospital TNI Konga XXIX-L / UNIFIL, Task Force Military Community Outreach Unit (MCOU) TNI Konga XXX-K / UNIFIL and Task Force CIMIC XXXI- K / UNIFIL.

According to Marshal Hadi, the tasks carried out by the Garuda Contingent were very full of national missions because these tasks were not only related to military aspects, but also political, diplomatic and cultural aspects.

"Everything that all TNI soldiers do will become a reflection of the Indonesian National Army and the Indonesian state in front of the international community and militaries of other countries," he said.

On that occasion, the former Air Force Chief of Staff (Kasau) reminded the TNI soldiers to always pay attention to safety factors and apply health protocols in every activity.

"Maintain your physical condition and health because currently the COVID-19 pandemic is still spreading around the world," he said.

TNI Marshal Hadi also emphasized that every TNI soldier should instill in himself that every task is essentially an honor, therefore tasks must be carried out with full discipline, dedication and professionalism.

"Respect and uphold local culture, avoid violations or negative excesses that may arise. Be a good national ambassador and TNI diplomat," he hoped.
