Bogor Regency Government Holds A Coordination Meeting For The Prevention Of Radicalism, Attitude Of Suicide Bombs In Bandung Ahead Of Political Year

BOGOR - Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bogor Regency Burhanudin said Bogor Regency with a population of nearly six million people must be protected from radicalism. Mainly after the suicide bombing exploded in Bandung and faced a political year.

This was said by Burhanudin when meeting the Bogor Regency Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) at the Coordination Meeting for the Prevention of Terrorism Radicalism in Cisarua, Bogor, Thursday, December 8.

"The amount of the population we have can be a potential and even a problem for the Bogor Regency Government, if not optimally fostered through true religious education and defending the country," said Burhanudin.

According to him, residents of Bogor Regency have been considered heterogeneous, so it requires the role of the state civil apparatus (ASN) to unite the migrant population with local residents so that they always become conducive, comfortable, and harmonious areas.

"Not only increasing coordination but also the collaboration of all subsystems must work, when among us there is no easy togetherness for people to want to destroy this republic," he said.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Iman Imanuddin said that recently radicalism has entered into various efforts, one of which is terror to cause fear to be included in certain groups.

"To make efforts to prevent the spread or increase radicalism, one of which is through education, our nation's long-term investment is the world of education, both national and religious education," he said.

According to him, the government's presence is a bulwark for the entry of radicalism or terrorism.

He appealed to residents to increase security for access to the government environment, as was the case at the police station.

"We have to reduce divisions, build that we are one family, even if there are things that are not in line and along with that, it is part of the situation that is teaching us to be more mature," he said.

Dandim 0621/Bogor Regency Lt. Col. Kav Gan Rusgandara said the handling of radicalism that occurred in the community was not only the responsibility of the security forces, but also all parties, including the community.

"It's our job to convey to the community, mental coaching is the task of the leadership, strengthening internally, both regional, sub-district and village officials," he said.

He asked the public to reactivate the environmental security system (sikamling) so that it could detect security disturbances early.

"So that we can find out what is happening in our area, we must both revive the spirit of the patrol around the region," he said.
