Ferdy Sambo Is Canceled Opening The Obstruction Of Justice Case In Front Of 2 Of His Former Subordinates

JAKARTA - Former Head of Propam Division Ferdy Sambo failed to testify to two of his former subordinates, Hendra Kurniawan and Agus Nurpatra at the trial of the alleged obstruction of justice case of the death of Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J. The reason was that the panel of judges assessed that the crown witness' testimony, including Ferdy Sambo, would begin listening to it next week. "For the crown witness (Ferdy Sambo, ed) later, after the fact witness is finished for the case, which is currently (the defendant, red) Hendra," said presiding judge Ahmad Suhel during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday, December 8. "So the witness crown starts next week. That's right," he continued. Originally, Ferdy Sambo would be presented to the defendant Agus Nurpatra. However, the trial was decided to be postponed until next week. "The defendant Agus will reopen next week on December 15, 2022," said Suhel. Hendra Kurniawan, Agus Nurpatra, and Irfan Widyanto were charged with obstructing the investigation into the death of Brigadier J at Ferdy Sambo's official residence at the Police Complex, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. In the indictment, Hendra Kurniawan played a role in ordering Agus Nurpatra to secure CCTV around Ferdy Sambo's official residence. Then for Agus Nurpatra, he continued the order and made sure everything went smoothly. Thus, they are strongly suspected of violating Article 49 in conjunction with Article 33 subsidiary Article 48 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 32 paragraph (1) of the ITE Law Number 19 of 2016 and/or the second indictment of Article 233 of the Criminal Code subsidiary Article 221 paragraph (1) to 2 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.
