KPU Recapitulation Plenary, Andi Harun-Rusmadi Wins In The Samarinda Regional Election

SAMARINDA - The pair Andi Harun-Rusmadi won the votes in the 2020 Samarinda Regional Election. These results were confirmed in the plenary meeting of the recapitulation and vote counting of the KPU in Samarinda City, East Kalimantan (Kaltim).

Andi Harun-Rusmadi was in the first place with 102,592 votes or 36.11 percent. Followed by the Zairin-Sarwono pair with 98,245 or 34.58 percent and in third place the Barkati-Darlis pair received 83,243 or 29.30 percent votes.

The chairman of KPU Kota Samarinda Firman Hidayat said that the plenary meeting with the agenda of recapitulation of vote count results in ten sub-districts in Samarinda City had been completed.

He said the results of the decision were still not final, because his party was still waiting for the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK), if there are candidates for regional elections who file legal disputes.

"We will wait for information on legal disputes and the Constitutional Court. In addition, based on the direction of the Central KPU, we will also send regional election cases where legal disputes occur," Firman said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 17.

According to Firman, if there is no official dispute registered with the Constitutional Court, his party will immediately carry out the stages of determining the winner of the Samarinda Regional Election.

In the plenary, it was known that the voter turnout was 301,555 voters or 52.26 percent with a total DPT Kota Samarinda of 576,981 voters. There were 284,080 votes known as valid ballots and 17,475 invalid votes.
