JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno launched a program of 100 domestic tour packages or so-called "100 PAK WISNU" ahead of the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays.

This program aims to increase the number of domestic tourist movements which in 2023 are targeted to reach 1.2-1.4 billion movements or travel.

"The target for expenditure per tax from this program is IDR 2.4 million. This means that if you multiply it, the amount is very large," said Sandiaga Uno, Tuesday, December 6.

Sandiaga Uno targets the contribution of tourism to the Indonesian economy at 4.3-4.5 percent of the national GDP.

According to Sandiaga Uno, the PAK WISNU' program is in line and at the same time following up on President Joko Widodo's direction to travel in #IndonesiaAja. PAK WISNU' is said to increase the area for travel ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays which are usually filled to travel abroad.

"On September 29, 2022, the President gathered regional heads and ministers. He poked fun and said a little bit abroad. He said that even though Indonesia has many destinations such as Borobudur and Labuan Bajo," said Sandiaga Uno.

Later, Sandiaga Uno continued, the PAK WISNU' program will be monitored by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment.

"Later it will be monitored by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in a regular period every month. We will have the data through mobile positioning data. So we will use big data as well," he said.

On December 13, 2022, the plan is also to launch the Proud Traveling Movement in Indonesia, which is part of the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement.

"Hopefully, for this Naru holiday, friends are moved not to all flock abroad. But, instead, look at these packages or Pak Wisnu," said Sandiaga Uno.

In addition, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is also coordinating with the tourism offices in 34 provinces in the country so that each province sends the three best tour packages.
