Acting Governor Heru Meets The Kramat Jati Main Market Trader Who Complains About The Skyrocketing Price Of Food Ingredients

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono visited the Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta, to check the amount of food prices ahead of Christmas 2022 and New Year's 2023.

While tracing the market, Heru approached a number of merchant stalls. Heru started his review at the koll traders' stall, Jumaedi. Heru asked about the current price of koll.

"Col prices are rising, sir, so it's IDR 7,000 per kilogram now. Even though yesterday it was only IDR 5,000, you know," Jumaedi told Heru at the Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta, Tuesday, December 6.

To Heru, Jumaedi complained that the increase in koll prices had been going on for two days. This is due to the price increase that has occurred in the shipping area of origin, East Java.

Heru continued his review and visited the chili trader, Diki. Asked Heru about the increase in the price of red cayenne pepper from the previous Rp. 30 thousand to Rp. 45 thousand.

"The rise (price of red cayenne pepper) has been going on for the past three days," said Diki.

Likewise, the price of green chilies, which rose from IDR 20,000 to IDR 25 thousand per kilogram, is now IDR 30 thousand per kilogram. The increase in chili prices at the Kramat Jati Main Market is also due to rising prices at the producer level.

The potato trader, Mawi, who Heru next approached also complained about the same thing. Mawi admitted that the increase in potato prices had occurred since the beginning of this month.

"I took (pots) from Dieng, it was already Rp. 12 thousand from the previous Rp. 10 thousand per kilogram. Then now I sell Rp. 14 thousand, from the previous price of Rp. 12 thousand," said Mawi.

However, an onion trader, Yanto, also informed that the price of shallots is still stable from the increase in the price of basic commodities. "For shallots, at least Rp. 18,000 to Rp. 20,000, tends to be stable, sir," he said.
