Sibolga Police Help Evacuate Residents Whose Houses Were Buried By Landslides

SIBOLGA - Sibolga Police personnel helped evacuate residents whose houses were partially buried by landslides on Jalan Oswald Siahaan Bandar Dolok, Sibolga Ilir Village, Sibolga City, North Sumatra. The landslide occurred due to heavy rain in Sibolga City, early Sunday. "The house of a resident in Sibolga ilir Village, at around 04.00 WIB which was buried by a landslide, namely the house belonging to Miswar Hutagalung which was contracted by Horas Hutabarat (43) which resulted in a loss of around Rp. 20 million," said Head of Public Relations of Sibolga Police AKP R. Sormin as quoted by Antara, Sunday, December 4 evening. Sormin said a resident of Erna Elisa Pasaribu (33) suffered a wound to his hip and had been taken to the hospital for treatment. In addition, at 07.30 WIB the landslide also hit the house of a resident of Irwan Tanjung (33) on Jalan SM Raja Sihopo-hopo, Aek Manis Village, Sibolga City, causing a loss of Rp. 10 million, and there were no casualties. "Then Amrizal Tanjung's house (30) on Jalan SM Raja, Air Manis Village, Sibolga City suffered a loss of Rp. 15 million and there were no casualties," he said. Sibolga Police personnel together with the Indonesian Army, BPBD officers, Sibolga City Government, PLN, North Sibolga District employees, Sibolga Ilir Village, and Aek Manis Village have worked together to get rid of land that closed residents' houses. "Then PLN UP3 Sibolga officers cut off electricity so as not to endanger residents' houses," said Sormin.
