The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa confirmed that the officer in the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) unit with the initials BF Infantry Major raped the female soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division/Kostrad Second Lieutenant Caj. (K) GER.

Based on the information received, the alleged rape incident involving the Paspampres officer took place in Bali in mid-November 2022.

Currently, the Commander continued, Major BF has been named a suspect and detained by the TNI Military Police Detachment. Previously, the suspect BF had undergone an investigation in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

The investigation was carried out in Makassar because the rape victim was a soldier who served in the Infantry 3/Kostrad Division whose headquarters were in Gowa, South Sulawesi Province.

"So, if I'm not mistaken, the fingerprints are in Makassar because this victim is part of Division 3/Kostrad, but will be taken over by the TNI Puspom because the perpetrators are Paspampres. That's under the TNI Headquarters, we take over, handle it in the TNI," said General Andika.

Apart from being subject to criminal articles, the former Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) ensured that the rape officer was also fired from the TNI.

"One, it's a criminal act, there are articles that we must impose, the Criminal Code exists. The second is that it is carried out by fellow TNI extended families. For me, the family of the TNI, Polri, is the same, so the additional punishment is to fire. That must be done," he said.
