JAKARTA - Director of Survey and Polling Indonesia (SPIN), Igor Dirgantara, assessed that the names of Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowo were recommendations from President Joko Widodo as the presidential-vice presidential candidate pair in 2024. According to him, there are two implications behind this.

He explained that the first was Jokowi's speech and statement about 'Pribowo's office' at the 8th Anniversary of the Perindo Party in early November. "Jokowi without text clearly said after he stepped down in 2024 his share will be Prabowo," said Igor in Jakarta, Thursday, December 1.

Second, he continued, from Jokowi's remarks at a volunteer event at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Jakarta, on Saturday 26 November. This time by reading the text, Jokowi appealed to volunteers and the public to choose a leader with white hair and a lot of wrinkles on his face. This criterion, according to Jokowi, is a characteristic of a leader who thinks about the people.

Furthermore, Igor said there are three strong reasons why Prabowo-Ganjar's name is. There areun first reasons, electability and popularity of Prabowo-Ganjar who are always at the top of the national survey results.

"If Prabowo-Ganjar can duet as a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates in 2024, then the strong votes from Jokowi, Prabowo, Ganjar voters will be more solid and the unlawful voters will shrink. The acceptability of the Prabowo-Ganjar pair will also be higher, especially from young people (millennials)," explained Igor.

Second, he continued, Prabowo and Ganjar could complement each other. Where Prabowo is the chairman of a big party, namely Gerindra as well as assistant to the president as Minister of Defense. Meanwhile, Ganjar is the Governor of Central Java and PDI-P cadre (PDIP). "Both understand what the people feel because they want to go directly to the field," said Igor.

Igor said that Indonesia's leadership cycle has always been in the vortex of ministers and governors since the last decade of reform, namely Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or SBY, which started with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and Jokowi from the Governor of DKI.

"According to Herbert Feith, there are two types of Indonesian national leadership, namely solidarity makers and administrators. If the two types are united, they are very complete and ideal. Prabowo is a solidarity maker in Soekarno's style, while Ganjar is more of an administrator type like Muhammad Hatta," he said.

While the third reason, Igor said that both Prabowo and Ganjar uphold the values of diversity in Indonesia, which Jokowi said consisted of many ethnic groups, languages, and religions.

Igor assessed that Prabowo and Ganjar are not only suitable from military background configurations, ethnicity and age. However, Prabowo-Ganjar is also a symbol of unity to prevent the polarization and sustainability of Jokowi's development program. "Both Prabowo and Ganjar also have good performance and track record in their respective positions. Both are also considered representations of the'mitos' that Indonesian leaders must have a name with the final letter 'O'. And of course the Prabowo Subianto-Ganjar Pranowo pair is not the antitesta from Jokowi itself," he concluded.
